Come join Brian Dennis (CCIE #2210) and Brian McGahan (CCIE #8593) for an intense, CCIE Routing & Switching 12 Day Bootcamp. Combining the incredibly detailed and well-structured lectures of our Advanced Technologies Routing & Switching CCIE Class with the realistic and difficult CCIE Mock Lab Workshop, students will spend 12+ hours each day studying, learning, and practicing hands-on with lab equipment as they learn what it takes to become a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert.

Audience

CCIE Routing & Switching lab candidates who are within two months of their lab exam.  Ideally students will take this Bootcamp and appear for the real lab the following week. Because this is an advanced Bootcamp, introductory material will not be covered and students are expected to have attended the Advanced Technologies Class Online or watched the Advanced Technologies Class-on-Demand along with having completed at least the first five IEWB-RS-VOL2 labs prior to attending.

This class will also benefit CCIE candidates who may have attempted the actual CCIE Lab Exam without passing and feel they need to learn a more advanced and structured approach to CCIE Lab strategy. Candidates can greatly enhance their knowledge and understanding of such advanced topics as IGP Redistribution, BGP, IPv6, and QoS before attempting the Lab again.

To ensure each student receives the attention needed, the Bootcamp is taught by the most highly certified team of CCIE instructors, Brian Dennis, CCIE #2210 (Routing & Switching/ ISP Dial/ Security/ Service Provider) and Brian McGahan, CCIE #8593 (Routing & Switching/ Security/ Service Provider).

Overview

Internetwork Expert's CCIE Routing & Switching 12 Day Bootcamp (IEBC-RS-12D-RNO) is a two-week live Instructor-led class series. This class is part lecture, part hands-on, and focuses both on developing a structured approach to CCIE Lab strategy and advanced hands-on scenarios.  Students will each have access to a dedicated rack of Cisco equipment that consists of six Cisco routers, two Catalyst 3550s, and two Catalyst 3560's.

The CCIE Lab strategy portion of the class covers topics such as what to expect the day of your lab, how to distinguish between Layer 2 and Layer 3 topologies, how to prioritize tasks, how to build and verify the network, how to manage your time, and how to track your progress as the instructors walk you step-by-step through various CCIE Lab scenarios.

During the first two days of the hands-on portion of class students will be provided with advanced, technology-focused scenarios not found in any of our other product lines.  Students will spend half of the first two days configuring these scenarios LIVE on the equipment, and the other half with the instructors walking through the configurations and answering any technology specific questions.

For the third day of hands-on, students will be provided with a unique full-scale 8-hour lab scenario to configure.  The following day, day four, the scenario from the third day will be reviewed, step-by-step, with the instructors. During this session, a detailed explanation will be provided about the technologies covered, interpretations of the questions, and common mistakes the students have made with relation to each topic.

The sixth and seventh day of the Bootcamp will be spent doing hands-on labs at the student’s own pace.  This is designed to ensure the student is ready for the second week of class, which involves doing four full-scale graded mock lab exams.

Days eight through eleven, students are given a mock lab exam each day that is designed to simulate the conditions of the actual CCIE Routing & Switching lab exam. In total, each candidate will receive and complete four unique mock lab exams. Students are expected to complete each exam in 8 hours, and are provided an additional 30 minutes for a lunch break. After completion, the exams are graded by our CCIE instructors.

During the final day, students are provided a score report from the previous day's lab that includes detailed feedback about the student's performance. The exam is then reviewed, step-by-step by the instructor, with the entire class. In addition, a detailed explanation will be provided about the technologies covered, interpretations of the questions, and common mistakes that students have made with relation to each topic.

Also, on the final day of class students will attend a breakdown session of the previous day’s lab, plus an extended lecture of the class in review. In addition, the instructors will review the students' score reports for the entire class and give recommendations on readiness to take and pass the CCIE Lab Exam, along with suggestions of what topics to focus on during further preparation.

Note: The mock labs exams used in the second week of this class are not the same labs contained in our CCIE Routing & Switching Mock Lab Workshop Online (IEW-RS-ONL), self-paced Graded Mock Lab Exams, or the CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume II (IEWB-RS-VOL2).
