This Super Economy CCNP Kit is designed to give you the most bang for your buck to help you pass both your CCNA and CCNP exams. So it will do two exams in one kit!
You get routers and switches that will help you get hands on experience in most of the CCNP disciplines for the ROUTE, SWITCH and TSHOOT exams. The great thing about this kit is that all of it can be used in our CCIE topology after you pass your CCNP tests! The major difference in this kit versus our Economy CCNP kit is that this kit has 2950s(you may want to consider upgrading the 2950 Standard Image switches to Enhanced Image with the 2950C model to support a few more commads as covered in our Lab Suggestions article) in place of the 2960s and a 3550 in place of the 3560. But that is ok as they will still do 95% of the concepts for the SWITCH exam. The other area it is a little light in is the Vocie and Wireless concepts in SWITCH. It is a great low end CCNP kit and will support the 80+ labs in the Cisco Academy CCNP lab workbooks!
We also allow you to tweak the kit to your liking. So here are the upgrade options available:
In regards to router upgrades here is what is available:
- The base 1760 96/32 sinlge FE router supports 12.4(25) Advanced IP Services.
- The 1841 128/32 upgrade is for a dual FE ISR router that comes with two HWIC slots and runs 12.4(24). This router can do your NAT/PAT labs and CCP. The 256/64 upgrade allows you to run IOS 15.1(4). The 384/128 upgrade allows for multiple IOSes.
- The 2801 upgrade is also a dual FE ISR router that offers two additional HWIC slots over the 1841 with enhanced functionality, dual AIM slots and PVDM slots on the motherboard for future Voice use. Similar to the 1841, 128/32 runs 12.4 and 256/64 runs IOS 15.1(4).
In regards to the switch upgrades, here is what is available:
- The base 2950 supports 12.1.22 (SI) Stanard Image IOS which covers 95% of the CCNA exam. It can pass IPv6 traffic, but does not support IPv6 addressing.
- The 2950C/T/G upgrade supports 12.1.22 (EI) Enchanced Image IOS which will support Enhanced QoS, 802.1s MISTP, and 802.1w RSTP.
- The 2960 upgrade supports 15.0(2) IOS and IPv6 addressing and can do very limited Layer 3 static routing.
- The 3550 upgrade supports true Layer 3 routing while running 12.2(44)SE6 EMI IOS.
- The 3560 upgrade supports 15.0(2)SE5 and true Layer 3 routing and PVLAN and QoS features the 3550 does not.
