Hi,

The computer does not matter. If it has a 9 pin serial port it makes it easier. If not, you can buy a USB to serial converter.

It really depends if you will need other equipment on what labs tare included with the kti you purchased. What kit did you buy?

Best regards,
CertificationKits Sales Team

Hi,

Ok, so from an equipment perspective, you are right on track. The only thing I would not do is the 3005 and the 506 unless you need to learn them for your current company.

I would add a transceiver for the 2511 so you can remotely access the pod too if you like.
http://www.certificationkits.com/cisco-transceiver/

On the rack, if you want to go with a 16U, we can get them too. They are $10 less than the 20U.

Will you use shelves for the access points, wireless controllers, IP Phones?

Yes, the rack kits are sold separately.

Best regards,
CertificationKits Sales Team

Please see my answers to your questions below...

I'm looking at the premium ccna security kit. Why is there only 1 ASA? Don't you need two to set up a VPN tunnel?

The Cisco Academy only requires one for the labs as on the other end is a router as the end tunnel point.

Can all the switches and routers work with CCP? I saw a warning about licensing.
No, the switches do not. Please see this in regards to licensing.
http://www.certificationkits.com/forum/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=18&func=view&catid=5&id=30

Do the routers and switches operate or do I need to get and apply some sort of license before they will work?
They work just fine.

Do you provide the Cisco Packet Tracer software program?
No, that is only for Cisco Academy students as you don’t need it when you have real hardware.

Thank you very much,
Chuck

The fiber ports are not really a part of the Cisco curriculum . The reason you use the 2950C is it run the EI(Enhanced) IOS that supports additional IOS features whereas a normal 2950 runs SI(Standard) IOS.

I am sorry to say it is a trash unit then as it is not worth replacing the main board. You may want to look at a 2950 for $39.99. It is a better switch with more supported features.

Hi,

The 2501 routers are fixed routers so they do not have an option to install modules. They do come with transceivers which you need to convert the AUI ports to RJ-45.

The best kit really depends on your budget. What is your rough budget and have you reviewed this?

Hi,

You must use the runas function to run it as an administrator.

I hope this helps. :)

Hi,

Yes, this is a great router for the new CCNA Routing and Switching 200-120 exam or the updated ICND1 CCENT 100-101 exam.
